Tomato Passata
£10.00 GBP
- Tomatoes have come a long way. They arrived in Europe centuries ago from Mexico and Peru. For a long time, tomato plants were used solely as an ornament because they were believed to be poisonous. But in the end, tomatoes conquered the tables of aristocrats and ordinary people alike. Tomato passata was invented in the 17th century, but its magical encounter with pasta occurred more than one century later. The rest is history. Our history.
Our artisanal tomato passata is 100% natural. It contains no additives, colourings, or preservatives, just Roma tomatoes, lemon juice, and Cervia salt, which is particularly rich in trace elements. Tomato passata is so versatile that the list of possible uses could be endless. We’ll start by recommending the traditional goodness of pasta with tomato sauce or a classic Margherita pizza. -
